Marine oil-water separator is a device used to treat oily wastewater from the bottom of ship engine rooms. Its main purpose is to effectively separate the oil in the oily wastewater and ensure that the discharged wastewater meets environmental standards. Marine oil-water separators typically include a 15ppm bilge water separator, a 15ppm bilge water alarm device, and an automatic shutdown device.


Working principle

The marine oil-water separator adopts multi-stage separation technology, which includes the following steps:
Primary inclined plate gravity and coalescence separation: Oily wastewater is separated through a primary inclined plate separator, utilizing the difference in oil-water density for preliminary separation.
Secondary fiber filter: The sewage separated in the first stage enters the fiber filter and further removes small particles through adsorption and filtration.
Three stage ultrafiltration membrane permeation separation: Finally, deep treatment is carried out through ultrafiltration membrane to ensure that the oil content of the discharged water does not exceed 15ppm.
In addition, the oil concentration meter is used to measure the oil concentration of the discharged liquid. If the concentration exceeds the standard, it will automatically switch to the third level treatment to ensure that the discharged water meets the standards

Scope of application and emission standards

The application range of marine oil-water separators is wide, and ships of different tonnages need to be equipped with separators of different specifications. For example:

Ships with a total tonnage of 400 tons or more but less than 10000 tons must be equipped with approved 15ppm oil filtration equipment and installed with a 15ppm alarm device.

Ships with a total tonnage of 10000 tons or more must be equipped with oil filtration equipment with a 15ppm alarm device, and the discharge must automatically stop when the oil content exceeds 15ppm
