Bursting disk safety device is a non-re-closed pressure relief device assembled with rupture disc ( or rupture disc assembly) and clamp holder (or supporting ring). At the set blasting temperature, when the pressure difference between the two sides of the rupture disc reaches the preset value, the rupture disc acts instantly ( fracture or drop off) and releases fluid medium. It is a safe pressure relief device that is used to protect pressure vessel or pipeline from damaging due to overpressure. It has the advantages such as simple structure, large discharge area, good sealing performance and reliable work. It is most suitable for protection of pressure vessels or pipeline with high viscosity of working medium, polymer sedimentation,strong corrosivity and sudden pressure rise that cannot be protected by common safety valves.

Structural Composition:
Bursting Disc: In the bursting disc device, it is the pressure sensitive element which may act rapidly due to over pressure.
Clamp holder: In the rupture disc device, the clamp holder has locating, supporting and sealing functions and the function to ensure the discharge area. It is also an independent clamping component that can guarantee accurate action of the rupture disc.
The bursting discs and clampers must be designed and manufactured coordinately to assure correct fitting. In principle, it is only assured that the bursting discs will be broken under preset bursting pressure to discharge the pressure when they are used coordinately with the matching clampers.
Bursting Disc safety devices can be divided into 4 categories.
Domed bursting discs: the pressure sensitive element is in domed shaped. After installation, the concave surface is at the high pressure side of the pressure system, and while action, this element will be broken due to tensile. As per different bursting principles, domes bursting discs can be divided into ordinary type, domed slotted type and domed grooved type.
Reverse domed bursting discs: the pressure sensitive element is in reverse domed shape. After installation, the convex surface is at the high pressure side of the pressure system, and while action, this element will be compressed to loose the stability so that breakage or falling off will be resulted in. As per different bursting principles, reverse domed bursting discs can be divided into reverse domed tool post type, reverse domed alligator teeth type, reverse domed grooved type, reverse domed slotted type and reverse domed falling-off type.
Flat bursting discs: the pressure sensitive element is flat. As per different bursting principles, the flat bursting discs can be divided into flat slotted type and flat grooved type.
Graphite bursting discs: the pressure sensitive element is made from graphite, which will break due to bending or shearing while action.
As per the requests from production and practices, under the same work conditions, several types are possible to be applicable. However, while selection, it is necessary to select the structure of high performance to price ratio.
Besides, the material of the bursting discs is one of the important factors influencing the bursting pressure. While selection, for the material, the recommend highest applicable temperature and the anti-corrosion performance to medium shall be considered, and if necessary, protection lining or coating can be applied.
